Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I sign-up for a code class?
- A: Simply register on this site (one time), choose a month & location for your class, choose the class type & any applicable discounts, add to the shopping cart & checkout! For future classes, just login, choose a class & complete the checkout steps!
Q: What time do classes start, and what is the cost?
- A: All classes start at 6:30am. The cost is as follows: 8-hr(OH & NC)-($150), 6-hr(KY-ME/EE)-($125), 4-hr(OH & NC)-($95), 2-hr(OH)-($55)
Q: Which states license renewal requirements do your classes cover?
- A: Classes are State Approved and cover the following requirements: OCILB (EL-PL-HV-HY-RE), OH-BBS (ESI), N.C. (Elect) & KY (ME/EE). Classes currently Do Not Cover KY-CE (6-hr Kentucky Business)!
Q: If I'm already taking the 8-hr class for Ohio, is there an additional cost for KY, NC or ESI?
- A: No! Simply let me know which additional renewals that you need, and your hours will be submitted to the proper license requirement division.
Q: Are advance payments and registration required for classes?
- A: Although not required, if you do not pre-register, a seat cannot be guaranteed if in the event the class is full!
Q: Can I attend a 2nd class in the same year to fulfill next year's requirement?
- A: Sure, but only "after" you have renewed your license with the state, or they will not carry-over & honor your hours! This is not suggested, however, since the class content changes only once per year.
Q: What sections of the NEC will we cover in class?
- A: Over the course of the 3-year cycle, we will cover all sections of the NEC. However, so as to provide different code content each year, I split the NEC into (3) parts , one for each code cycle year! Of course the option to discuss other sections is always available in all classes!
Q: Can you give a class at my place of business or in my home town?
- A: Sure! If you can get a minimum of 10 fellow contractors or license holders to attend the same class, and supply the training location, then you can choose the date and location! More is better, of course, and I would need at least 30 days notice to give the state the time that they require!
Q: If I register and pay for a class, but cannot attend, can I reschedule?
- A: Yes, of course! I know how difficult it can be to commit to a date in advance, but then have something come up. If this happens, simply call or email me, and I will get you into another class!
Q: If I pre-pay for a class, is my credit card information safe on your website?
- A: Absolutely! When you decide to pre-pay on the website, you are taken to a "Secure Page" through the PayPal Gateway, which is encrypted and highly secure! You are returned to the training site only after your transaction is complete. Ohio Electrical Training does not handle, nor ever sees any of your credit card information!
Q: Which forms of payment are accepted for the code classes and products on your site?
- A: All online payments are made through the PayPal Gateway. You can pay with your PayPal account if you have one, although it is not required. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover when you are taken to the PayPal page, by clicking on the link "I do not have a PayPal Account". In addition, you can pay by cash, check or credit card on the day of class!
Q: Do classes cover (ESI) Electrical Safety Inspector credits?
- A: Yes! In 2014, Ohio Electrical Training was approved by the OH-BBS and the normal code class is now approved for (8)hrs of (ESI) Electrical Safety Inspector credits!
